The Seeds of Change - Prequel - Charlie's Next Chapters Series

A gentle story that sets up Charlie's world beautifully. The Glass House Mountains setting felt so real, and I loved the friendship between Charlie and Rachel. That ending left me wanting more. Off to read Life in Bloom!

I read this in one sitting with a few glasses of wine. The lake scene had me holding my breath, and the cafe conversation with Rachel stayed with me long after I finished. The napkin scene is such a simple idea, but it hit home. I've already downloaded Life in Bloom.

I didn't expect a short prequel to be this emotional. Charlie's life felt so familiar: the school projects, the netball jerseys, the constant juggling. Rachel's line about building such a magnificent harbour that we forget we were designed to sail has stuck with me all week.

The Seeds of Change - SYNOPSIS

Charlie has four daughters, a demanding job, and a motorcycle gathering dust in the garage. She's the master conductor of everyone else's crises, and she can't remember the last time anyone asked what she wanted.

Then she joins a charity ride to the Glass House Mountains. A moment of terror at the lake’s edge, a stranger named Rachel who asks questions that linger, and a few quiet hours over coffee at the marina turn an ordinary Saturday into a day Charlie won’t forget. By the time she heads home, a tiny seed has been planted.

Three words on a paper napkin. One question she can’t ignore. Charlie doesn’t yet know how much they will matter. Years later, in Life in Bloom, she begins to discover the answer.

The Seeds of Change is the heartfelt prequel to Life in Bloom, the first novel in the Charlie's Next Chapters series.

It's a short, warm read about friendship, second chances, and the moment you finally give yourself permission to imagine something different.

Before she learned to bloom, she first had to change.
